Agnes Restaurant 4006

In an undiscovered corner of Fortitude Valley, an old brick warehouse has been transformed into a celebration of wood-fired cooking. This is Agnes, where the drama, spectacle and ancient skill of cooking over fire is combined with contemporary hospitality to show how simple great food can be.

Wood-fired cooking served in an industrial-chic space featuring a terrace & a cosy wine bar.

Went there for my birthday lunch which happened to be Fathers Day! From the get go pleasantly welcomed by a staff member. Every single staff we encountered were delightful. Food was well presented, delicious and generous. Incredible ambience with the open concept. Can’t rave enough about service at this place so thoughtful and lovely!

Service was excellent. The preparation and crafting of the dishes were fine, but many just lacked a bit of flavour and balance. I found the flatbread was VERY salty. We really enjoyed the lamb. And the 2 side dishes, pumpkin and leeks, were very tasty. The chocolate mousse was a pleasant finish.

A must-try restaurant in Brisbane! The ambience is amazing and the service was great. The food was very interesting with a unique touch. We tried the tasting menu with wine pairing and we loved the experience. Definitely worth checking out.

Absolutely divine. The service was very attentive and the waitress who served our table gave really good recommendations. Some of the dishes were on the saltier side but the flavours really compensated it. The steak was beautifully done and the tuna was unique but heavenly. Price point is on the upper end so I would only go on special occasions.

Flawless in every way! The food, the service, the ambiance, the venue, just wonderful. We came here for a birthday dinner and it was perfect. Everything was gluten free too! Most of the menu is gluten free and the staff know which dishes aren’t and can let you know what to avoid. Some of those dishes can be altered to be gluten free too. It was a magical evening and I can’t wait to go back!

I would dine here every week if I could. We had the tasting menu for 2 people. It was incredibly delicious food, lots of variety, good portion size. If they did pick-up, I would totally order the oysters & mousse with pistachio & cream!! Service was great – very knowledgeable waitstaff. Wine recommendation was on point, so were the cocktails. I cannot wait to go back again.

This was an easy top 3 world wide fire-based restaurant for me. To preface my experience, I’ve been to several others including in Sydney, London, Nee York and Switzerland – and we have 3 firewood based bbqs at home. We are huge fans of wood fire cooking. The spice influence of every dish, the balance and creativity will leave your senses swirling. The tenderness of the meat, and the inventiveness of the use of fire or coal related distances (charred leak dust, smoked cream, flame roasting and braising) was incredible. The restaurant should absolutely have a cookbook. If the meal was to the quality we had, you will leave stunned in a lovely atmosphere.

Best restaurant in Brisbane! Each dish was delightful and unique. Favourites were the cheddar gougere, lamb sweetbread and the duck. Excellent service and perfect place for date nights! Would definitely be back.

The food was fantastic but the service might be more memorable. It felt like the staff had endless time for us in every interaction from walking through the door to walking out 3 and a bit hours later. It was clever too, our waitress made conversation at the right moments and genuinely made good menu recommendations. There was not a single salesy moment. Not the slightest hint our allocated booking time had come and gone, rather we encouraged to continue relaxing. The space is stunning too. The blend of old brick, wood fired cooking, steal and glass is showroom like. We sat down by the wine bar, it felt spacious, but private and cosy enough.
